Best of NY

Although I have yet to make a dent in the New York fish taco scene, I am confident that Mercadito not only serves the best fish tacos in NYC, but the best fish tacos this side of the Mississippi! No joke!

Oh, their ceviche is off the charts, too!!!!

And for my friends in Chi-town, you will be getting your very own Mercadito this Spring! Yes, the proprietors of the 3 NYC Mercadito locations - Mercadito, Mercadito Grove & Mercadito Cantina - will be opening a Chicago spot at 108 W Kinzie Street (btw N Clark & N LaSalle)!

    Corn tortillas be damned!!!! its all about flour tortillas!! Show me a good spot in NYC where they embrace the flour tortilla for the fish taco.

    Corn, my friend, is the only way to go!!! I will, however, find you a place where they embrace flour tortillas...wait, I know of a few - Taco Bell, Quidoba, Chipotle. haha

    Seriously though, I'll find US a place!

BUT, when in need of a tight fix, at 11pm happy hour, this place delivers. Just sit at the bar, talk to no one but the bartender and your accomplice(s), and make out like a fish taco bandit. (deciper that how you will)

This place is super busy, and if you're gonna walk in there all ignorant, drunk, and asking stupid questions, they'll serve you up what you deserve. OR, enjoy the reason why this place has a line out the door at 9pm on Sunday, in the Mission... No other Salmon Taco has yet to contend.

    the working girls on 8th ave serve up some decent fish tacos.
    they are pricey though... and not that fresh.
